Located in the north-east of France, the Bourgogne – Franche-Comté region is mainly known for its natural, cultural and gastronomy resources. It hosts three natural parks across its territory, several UNESCO sites, and offers a wealth of outstanding products with “appellation d’origine contrôlée” certification. Coveted by tourists from all over the world, this singular region also deserves to be known for its economic dynamism.

The region is located in the vicinity of Switzerland, with which it shares 200 km of borders, and in median position between the Rhine axis and the Paris basin. This geographic position places it at the heart of Europe, and confers it quite a number of assets in different sectors such as energy, steelworks, optics, chemistry, or the agri-food industry. These research and innovation skills can also be explained by its history and its strong industrial culture.
