About Excellence Initiative Project ISITE-BFC :

In 2016, UBFC was awarded by the French Government in the framework of the national ambitious program “Investments for Future” to operate the Excellence Initiative Project Initiatives – Science Innovation Territory Economy in Bourgogne Franche-Comté (ISITE-BFC).

ISITE-BFC is based on the scientific fields of excellence carried out by the region and thus focuses on three main axes:

  • Advanced Materials, Waves and Smart Systems
  • Territories, Environment, Food
  • Comprehensive, individual care

Through these 3 axes, ISITE-BFC aims to create a high level and stimulating research environment, with a strong international influence attracting students and talented researchers from all over the world.

The project also aims to develop excellence in training through the internationalization of training, valorization of lifelong learning and promotion of innovative training practices.

The socio-economic fallouts expected from the project aim at transforming the BFC economy towards a more intense high-tech profile.

At the same time, on a territorial scale, ISITE-BFC implementation opens access to knowledge, international cultures and exchanges, as well as to initial training and lifelong education developing employment opportunities in a competitive market.
