House for the Social and Environmental Sciences and Humanities Claude Nicolas Ledoux

The MSHE is an interdisciplinary unit that aims to reinforce strategies for breaking down disciplinary
barriers, both within the SHS and between the SHS and other major fields (life and environmental sciences,
science and technology). It is an essential approach to meeting some of the major challenges of the early
21st century: socio-ecological and climatic crises, cultural diversity, cognitive revolutions and ethical and
political issues, etc.

The MSHE is a support and research unit (UAR3124 CNRS/UFC) and a research federation (FED 4209)
recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research since January 1st, 2012. It brings together the
laboratories in Franche-Comté region of the field of the human and social sciences (SHS) or with an SHS
team within them.
The MSHE is part of the National Network of the Maisons des sciences de l’homme (RnMSH) and complies
with its charter. At regional level, the MSHE has set up the Fédération des MSH de Bourgogne Franche-
Comté with the Maison des sciences de l’homme (MSH) of Dijon, to give concrete expression to the long-
standing collaboration between the two organizations.
