Health and handicap

The University Service for Preventive Medicine and Health Promotion (“Service Universitaire de Médecine Préventive et de Promotion de la Santé”) is at the service of students and supports them in case of health concern and as regards compulsory medical examinations. The service is composed of practitioners, nurses, one psychologist, and one nutritionist. All students must undergo a medical examination during their bachelor’s (“licence”) studies. The service also sets up one-off events about different subjects (tobacco, spirits, AIDS, etc.), and organises blood collection days along with the French Blood Institute (“Établissement français du sang”). Workplace first-aider training sessions are also proposed to students. The University Health and Prevention Centre (Centre de Prévention et de Santé Universitaire”, CPSU) answers students’ questions and provides them advice about health and illness. It is composed of general practitioners, psychiatrists, one gynecologist, nurses, one psychologist, one couples counsellor, and a team belonging to the Free-service Centre for Information on and Diagnosis-Testing of Sexually Transmissible Infections (“Centre Gratuit d’Information de Diagnostic et de Dépistage des infections sexuellement transmissibles”, CEGIDD). Studies and handicap : UBFC institutes are committed to making it easier for disabled students to get integrated and succeed within the framework of their higher-education studies. Numerous measures are implemented to make everyday life easier for disabled students. For more information:
