Past Global Changes Horizons est une initiative \u00e9ditoriale anglophone qui s\u2019inscrit dans le projet scientifique PAGES. Le magazine s\u2019adresse \u00e0 toutes les personnes qui s\u2019int\u00e9ressent aux questions environnementales et au changement global en cours. Son objectif ? Faire prendre conscience que le pass\u00e9 permet de mieux comprendre la crise environnementale actuelle, mais aussi d\u2019entrevoir ce qui peut \u00eatre fait pour l\u2019avenir de la Plan\u00e8te.<\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Cette revue scientifique, r\u00e9dig\u00e9e en anglais, se veut accessible au plus grand nombre, mais surtout aux adolescents et jeunes adultes. Les articles sont courts, vulgaris\u00e9s et contiennent des messages forts. Pour en faciliter la lecture, ils sont accompagn\u00e9s de nombreuses illustrations : bandes dessin\u00e9es, images et dessins.

<\/p>

La naissance de ce magazine r\u00e9pond \u00e0 un manque en ressources scientifiques vulgaris\u00e9es pertinentes et accessibles au jeune public. Pourtant, “c’est pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment le groupe d’\u00e2ge pour lequel il faut en faire plus dans le but d\u2019aider \u00e0 fa\u00e7onner leur transition vers les d\u00e9cideurs \u00e0 l’\u00e2ge adulte”, d\u00e9clare Graciela Gil-Romera, co-\u00e9ditrice du premier num\u00e9ro, aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de Boris Vanni\u00e8re. Ce dernier ajoute : \u00ab Il est imp\u00e9ratif que les scientifiques actifs inspirent et mobilisent la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration \u00bb.

<\/p>

Cette revue annuelle repose donc sur une ambition citoyenne en vue d\u2019un avenir meilleur : \u00e9duquer, c\u2019est contribuer au pouvoir des citoyens et \u00e0 la vie d\u00e9mocratique. \u00ab Seules des personnes bien inform\u00e9es peuvent juger l’action des gouvernements. Iil est important que les citoyens puissent nourrir leur libre arbitre afin d\u2019\u00eatre en mesure de voir clairement les promesses et les incertitudes \u00e0 venir.

Le premier num\u00e9ro d’Horizons<\/em>, comprend 18 contributions qui abordent chacune une question scientifique.<\/p>

    A propos de PAGES<\/strong><\/h6>

    Le projet PAGES (Past Global Changes<\/em>) est un programme international visant \u00e0 coordonner et \u00e0 promouvoir la recherche sur les changements globaux pass\u00e9s. L’objectif principal est d’am\u00e9liorer notre compr\u00e9hension des changements pass\u00e9s du syst\u00e8me terrestre afin d’am\u00e9liorer les projections du climat et de l’environnement futurs, et d’informer les strat\u00e9gies de durabilit\u00e9. Les scientifiques sont bas\u00e9s dans le monde entier, et le bureau international se trouve \u00e0 Berne, en Suisse. PAGES est soutenu par l’Acad\u00e9mie des sciences Suisse, l’Acad\u00e9mie des sciences Chinoise, l’Universit\u00e9 de Berne et le projet international Future Earth.
