Thus, the activity of the UBFC ECR is not restricted to giving recommendations about pre-defined protocols: its advice can also be sought by a project holder well ahead of designing a class=\"elementor-toggle-title\" tabindex=\"0\">What kinds of protocols can the UBFC ECR provide recommendations about?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1881\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"1\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1881\"><p>On the researchers\u2019 request, the UBFC ECR examines all the research projects involving human beings while not falling under the provisions of decree n\u00b02012-300 of 5<sup>th <\/sup>March 2012 (called Jard\u00e9 decree) modified by ruling n\u00b0 2016-800 of 16<sup>th<\/sup> June 2016, defining the legal provisions relative to research involving human beings (called RIHB research, or \u201crecherches impliquant la personne humaine\u201d (RIPH) research). These provisions must be submitted to a Committee for the Protection of Human Beings (CPHB) (\u201cComit\u00e9 de Protection des Personnes\u201d, CPP).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-toggle-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-1882\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1882\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-toggle-icon elementor-toggle-icon-left\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-toggle-icon-closed\"><i class=\"fas fa-chevron-right\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-toggle-title\" tabindex=\"0\">Which criteria should be taken into account to deliver an ethical recommendation?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1882\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1882\"><p>The UBFC ECR examines the following points before delivering recommendations about projects:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The potential human and environmental impacts of the research project;<\/li>\n<li>The information given to participants, and the potential collection of their oral or written agreement;<\/li>\n<li>The collection and treatment of personal data, i.e., all the data that can lead to the identification of participants, directly by using their names, or indirectly through an ID or any other cross-referencing of data likely to lead to their identification.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The UBC ECR requires that all files be supplemented with documents attesting that these different points are taken into account, but does not have any <em>a posteriori<\/em> control mission once the research has been implemented.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section Conditions for submitting a project<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Projects submitted must be written in French<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The working language of the UBFC ERC is French. All procedures and correspondence are in French only.<\/p>\n<p><strong>N.B. The use of English in the submission of a project is only authorised if the applicant is a teacher-researcher of foreign nationality.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The scientific leader of the project must meet 3 conditions<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you wish to submit a project, please ensure that the scientific leader of the project, in whose name the project is submitted, meets the following conditions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle;\">\n<li>holds a doctorate<\/li>\n<li>is a member of a UBFC member institution or a UBFC partner institution (list of partner institutions available in the UBFC CER internal regulations)<\/li>\n<li>is involved in the research
