leaders in ecology, as well as future managers and project leaders working to conserve and manage biodiversity and ecosystems<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">The Master&#8217;s programme lasts <strong>two years<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">It offers an original range of theoretical and practical courses in ecology, conservation corresponding to the expectations of the professional world targeted by the course (consultancies, local authorities, the voluntary sector, government agencies, research, style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">The courses are designed on the principle that biodiversity conservation must be based on a systems approach, linking knowledge at different levels of biological organization and on different spatial and temporal scales.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Thus, the training includes key disciplines in ecology, namely:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Functional ecology (ecosystem structure and function, population and community ecology)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Conservation biology (threats to animal and plant species)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">But also other relevant disciplines such as:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Palaeoecology (long-term evolution of ecosystems),<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Ecotoxicology (transfer and effects of pollutants),<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Epidemiology (transmission of zoonotic pathogens),<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Numerical ecology (statistics applied to ecology),<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Research protocol design,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Environmental law and socio-economics of the hard science of biodiversity.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Courses content relies on the scientific expertise of teaching staff and includes recent technological developments in the fields of numerical ecology, molecular ecology, monitoring and management of populations and ecosystems.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><em>N.B.
