UBFC supervises doctoral training<\/strong><\/p>\n

The doctoral degree \u2013 the highest university degree \u2013 constitutes professional experience leading to high-level scientific skills and generic skills that can be valorised through high-responsibility jobs in all socio-economic sectors. It corresponds to the fulfilment of an original and innovating research project on the one hand, and to an individual continuing education plan (\u201cPlan Individuel de Formations continues\u201d) that supports the PhD student\u2019s research and professional projects on the other hand.<\/p>\n

Doctoral training takes place in a doctoral school (DS) accredited by UBFC for the 2017-2023 contract.<\/p>\n

Each DS commits to implement the action plans as defined in the decree of 25th<\/sup> May 2016, and more particularly 1) the continuous education courses that prepare future doctors to their professional evolution, and 2) actions that favour the structuring of research and transdisciplinary approaches on each institution\u2019s site.<\/p>\n

Each DS will do their best to recruit the best PhD students and ensure that the thesis is funded (salary and operating costs), proceeds smoothly, that the results are disseminated, and that support is brought fairly by the certified research units. The internal rules and regulations of each DS are available to the public.<\/p>\n

The Doctoral College is the UBFC body in charge of defining the doctoral policy in Bourgogne-Franche-Comt\u00e9 and ensuring its good quality. It coordinates, attunes and federates the activities of UBFC doctoral schools.
